Spontaneous Moments

I know this is a strange picture to put up but I took this of Lunden while we were at a friends wedding a couple of weeks ago. He was giving me his sad “puppy-dog” eyes and I snapped it quickly wanting to show him how sad he looked in an attempted to cheer him up. It has turned out to be one of my favorite pictures not only because he’s my son but because this picture personifies what I try to capture in my pictures. As a mother I love this picture because this is the Lunden I see every day. No, it’s not something I’d hang over a mantle but I love how it shows his sweet little sad eyes. As a photographer I love the richness of the color and the clarity of the picture seeing every strand of hair. This is what I try to capture while taking pictures for my clients; something that brings out the child’s personality, something that only rings true for Mom and Dad. Of course I want there are plenty of frame worthy pictures in the mix but it’s the spontaneous ones that always become my favorites.

I can attest to the fact that he has a much better personality than pouty 😉 Even though you see it every day, he’s a happy big ole’ boy! But I too love this picture! I love you Lunden, (sometimes) pouty and all!!
